Marjaztin Glass Trading & Construction-2008 trounces Bizol-2005 in SHAABAA

The Marjaztin Glass Trading & Construction-2008 barged into the win column after they clobbered the Bizol-2005, 100-66, in Division B of the 25th Sacred Heart Ateneo Alumni Basketball Athletic Association (SHAABAA) on Sunday at the Magis Eagles Arena in Mandaue City.

Batch 2008 did not take long to impose their will on their opponents as they established a 32-9 lead after the first canto and kept on going to get the victory, their first in seven matches.

Ricardo Pepito paced 2008 with 23 points, nine rebounds, five assists, and four steals, while Ed Macasling tallied 20 points and nine boards. Jonathan Cimafranca had 11 while Wendell Go almost had a triple-double with 10 assists, nine rebounds, and five points.

In the other Division B game, the 2011- SUPREA Ready Mixed Concrete bested the Prince/Laptap/MYMC ZeroSix-2006, 65-56, for their sixth win in eight games. Bradley Bacaltos had 17 points, nine rebounds, five steals, and four assists to spark 2011 to the hard-earned win. Bernard Chioson also helped out with his 12 points and seven rebounds.

Meanwhile in Division C, there’s no stopping the Asian Orthopedics-2014 as they pushed their record to an immaculate 7-0 after an 80-60 drubbing of the RDAK-2020

Batch 2014 pulled away in the final canto, using a fiery 17-2 blast in the first five minutes of the fourth to build a 71-52 advantage after being up by just six, 55-49, at the end of the third.

Popoy Navarro and Noriko Benedicto led 2014’s balanced attack with 13 points each, while Jair Igna and Lucky Ecarma had 12 markers each to help the team stay undefeated in this tournament.

2020 dropped to 1-6 despite getting 16 points from Mitch Almodal.

In the other Division C match, the MDP Customs Brokerage/Winzir-2013 moved to 6-2 after defeating the SABR Solutions Inc.-2018, 95-71. Batch 2018 got off to an excellent start and led by as much as 13, 23-10.

However, Batch 2013 quickly turned things around in the second and outscored their opponents by 12, 24-12, to take a 40-39 lead at halftime. They did not look back afterwards as they pushed their lead to a high of 26, 95-69, before cruising to the easy win.

Rendell Senining was his typical explosive self as he piled up a whopping 36 points to go with seven rebounds and six assists. Fletcher Galvez added a monster double-double of 18 points and 17 rebounds, while Arc Gabrielle Araw-Araw produced 16 points, seven boards, and five assists.

Batch 2018, which fell to 4-2, was led by the 18 points of Eroll Pastor who shot poorly from the field, making just seven of his 23 attempts.
