Summer is around the corner, and lockdown restrictions have started to lift, which means we are joyously planning outfits for garden parties and events once again.

Whether you choose to dress up, or go for a more casual ensemble when you venture to a pub garden, a statement pair of shoes can elevate any outfit.

The Duchess of Cambridge and Meghan Markle have repeatedly proven that a good pair of wedges can be the perfect accompaniment to almost any summer look.

The pair often turn to designer footwear brand, Castañer, in particular the Carina wedge sandals for royal engagements in the warmer months, which cost £100.

The Duchess of Cambridge has been seen regularly sporting the style since 2016 and was last spotted wearing the stylish footwear at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show in May 2019.

Meanwhile, Meghan was spotted in a black pair during her and Harry's royal tour of Australia, Fiji, Tonga and New Zealand in 2018.

For those who want to purchase a similar pair to the royals' staple summer footwear, M&S has just released the Suede Ankle Tie Wedge Espadrilles, which feature a similar feminine ankle tie, as well as a few additional features.

M&S' Suede Ankle Tie Wedge Espadrilles feature stain resistant suede fabric on the upper part of the shoe and a woven wedge.

The closed toe design is also fitted with Insolia technology, which works to redistribute weight from the balls of your feet for a more comfortable wear.

The Suede Ankle Tie Wedge Espadrilles come in a navy blue and tan leather, both of which are available in UK shoe sizes 3 to 8, as well as half sizes, so you can find the best fit.

Wherever you are going this summer, these affordable £45 shoes will go with anything and everything - the only question is: how long until they sell out?
