MANILA, Philippines — Manila Mayor Isko Moreno Domagoso has warned hotel owners in the city of facing sanctions if they reject accommodation or evict a frontline medical worker.
Domagoso said he is determined to stop the operation of hotels that do not cooperate and adhere with the policies of the local government unit (LGU).
Mayor Isko’s warning was prompted by reports of certain hotels that were evicting frontline medical workers despite a prevailing executive order from the Manila City government.
Executive Order No. 17 orders hotels and motels in the city of Manila to provide free accommodation to all medical frontliners who are particularly working at City District Hospitals and government-owned hospitals. MNP (with details from Dante Amento)
