MCWD soon to supply water to Barangay Apas households

THE Metropolitan Cebu Water District (MCWD) will soon supply water to the residents of Barangay Apas and neighboring barangays once the 15,000 cubic meters of water from its water source in the mountain barangay of Lusaran in Cebu City is already available.

A water installation fee of P6,000 will be paid in 12 equal monthly installments.

During a public hearing on Thursday, November 10, the residents did not show any objection to the new water tariff of MCWD that will be implemented starting July 1, 2023, which will increase from P197.51 to P295.2 for every consumption of 10 cubic meters of water.

The water rates already include franchise tax, power cost adjustment and purchase water adjustment.

Thousands of residents in the area are already excited to have their own water connections so they would not anymore buy water at P15 per container.

The MCWD, through the Apas barangay council, distributed 200 water application forms to the 412 residents who attended the public hearing.

Additional application forms will be given out during the next distribution schedule on Saturday, November 12. (PAC, TPT)
