'Medal of Honor: Warfighter' trailer thrusts players into hostage situation

Elite soldiers head off to the Philippines in the first TV trailer for October's Medal of Honor: Warfighter.

The rebooted Medal of Honor series trades upon its authenticity, with Warfighter including real-world special forces units from Britain, Australia, Norway, Canada, the USA, Poland, South Korea, Russia, Germany and Sweden.

Muted greens, greys, and blues contrast with the flash of gunfire and explosion in Warfighter's TV clip, which expands on footage shown in a previous gameplay trailer.

Medal of Honor: Warfighter launches during the week of October 23, allowing players to get stuck into its solo campaign and online multiplayer before Call of Duty: Black Ops II hits on November 13.
