Media, other stakeholders recognized during CCPO anniversary

THE Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) recognized on Wednesday, August 31, 2022, during its celebration of its 121st Police Service Anniversary the stakeholders who have helped implement the city police’s programs.

Also recognized were police personnel who got the highest performance rating this year especially in the agency’s campaign against criminality, as well as law enforcement.

Among those given the recognition Wednesday were Marlinda Tan, head of the Cebu City Advisory Council; Judge Marlon Moneva; Lorenza Ford; lawyer Liceria Lofranco-Rabillas; Monjur Billah; former presidential assistant for the Visayas Michael Dino; lawyer Rico Rey Francis Holganza; Kabataan Kontra Droga at Terorismo (KKDAT); CCPO coalition of force multipliers; and some members of the media.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Wilbert Parilla, deputy city director for administration of the CCPO, said they recognized the stakeholders as they have contributed a lot in the programs of the Philippine National Police (PNP).

The CCPO also thanked members of the Defense PNP Press Corps (DEPP), a group of journalists who have been covering the police in Cebu.

Parilla said the media has been helping the police especially in informing the public about the guidelines that they need to follow amid the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) pandemic.

“The media is the one who will disseminate and inform the public with regards sa atong accomplishments unsay gibuhat sa atong kapulisan so that the people will be informed kung unsa nay gibuhat sa atong kapulisan, during the pandemic which we have a lot of guidelines that needs the public to know, so the media made that role,” he said.

Meanwhile, Police Lieutenant Colonel Maria Theresa Macatangay, chief of the Investigation and Detective Management Unit (IDMU), was chosen as the Best Junior Commissioned Officer for Administration.

Named Best Junior Non-Commissioned Officer for Operation was Police Major Dindo Juanito Alaras.

The Best Senior Police Non-Commissioned Officer for Administration was Police Executive Master Sergeant Ruth Bongo sa IDMU, while Best Senior Police Non-Commissioned Officer for Operation was Police Executive Master Sergeant Wetzel Berry.

Other awardees were: Police Staff Sergeant Renato Baldo (Best Junior Police Non-Commissioned Officer for Administration), Police Staff Sergeant William Seno (Best Junior Police Non-Commissioned Officer for Operation) and NUP Joy Ann Vallejo of logistics (Best Non-Uniformed Personnel).

The Abellana Police Station 2 was named the Best City Police Station, which Station 6 got the Special Unit Award.

The police force, headed by Police Colonel Ernesto Tagle, assured that they will improve their service and continue to protect the public. (AYB/LMY)
