The winners of Miss Universe Philippines' (MUPH) five virtual challenges were revealed on Sunday (August 29).

The Top 15 for each competition, which is based on fan votes, was announced earlier by MUPH. The challenge winners, however, were chosen by judges.

"We already know the verdict from the fan votes, and with the completion of our last virtual challenge, it's time to let the Universe know of our panelists' decisions from the previous challenges!" MUPH wrote on Facebook.

After her catwalk video went viral, Steffi Aberasturi (Province of Cebu), Binibining Cebu 2018, won the runway challenge.

Maureen Wroblewitz (Pangasinan), Season 5 winner of "Asia's Next Top Model," topped the casting challenge, that aimed to showcase their natural beauty with a video shoot featuring the candidates in very minimal make-up.

The three other virtual challenges of Miss Universe Philippines 2021 were topped by new names in the pageant scene.

The headshot challenge was won by Maria Corazon Abalos (Mandaluyong), daughter of Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) Chairman Benhur Abalos and Mandaluyong Mayor Menchie Abalos.

Dark horse beauties edged out fan favorites in the introduction and interview challenges.

Beatrice Luigi Gomez (Cebu City), a member of the LGBTQ community who wowed the judges when she talked about her passion for sports, came out on top of the introduction challenge.

Victoria Velasquez Vincent (Cavite), meanwhile, claimed the top spot of the interview challenge where she was asked how she was affected by the pandemic. Vincent shared her struggle in relocating from New Zealand just to compete in the pageant. She said that despite losing the security of living abroad, she believes it taught her to never let go of her dreams.

Only 30 candidates from the current Top 50 will compete on stage on September 25 for the Miss Universe Philippines 2021 title.

The winner of this year's pageant will compete in the 70th Miss Universe pageant, which will take place in Israel in December.
