Mitsubishi PH previews Mirage G4

To whet appetites of potential buyers, Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) held a preview of the all new Mirage G4 at three dealerships in Metro Manila; Citimotors along Pasong Tamo, Diamond Motors along Quezon Avenue and Peak Motors in Manila Bay last Sept. 2.

Its name stands for Mirage Global 4-door and hopes to serve as a larger alternative to the highly popular hatchback. Though it is based on the Mirage hatchback, the G4 features a wheelbase 10 cm longer than the hatchback. It's also longer, wider and taller. It's powered by the same 1.2 liter 3-cylinder engine of the hatchback that makes 78PS and 100 NM meters of torque. Finally, all the changes only total up to a curb weight of 930kg.

The interiors feature more generous use of piano black gloss inserts and beige seats. The second row makes use of the longer wheel base to provide more legroom. The trunk provides enough space for three large golf bags.

MMPC also took the opportunity to reveal the prices for the G4 variants. Prices start at P578,000 for the entry level GLX with manual transmission up to P718,000 for the top-of-the-line GLS with a CVT.

As with the launch of the Mirage hatchback, customers who order the new Mirage G4 from Sept. 2 up to Oct. 16 will enjoy a pre-booking discount of P40,000, applicable on all models of the G4.

Customers outside of Metro Manila can view the Mirage G4 on Sept. 6 at regional Luzon dealers. Interested buyers from Visayas and Mindanao can see the Mirage G4 on Sept. 13 at their nearest showroom.
