Modern Windows took down Island Paints, 71-64, to barge into the win column of the Cebu Architects Basketball Club Corporate Cup last Sunday at the PAREF Springdale basketball court in Lahug.

Brian Acebedo took charge for Modern Windows as he collected a double-double with 22 points and 10 rebounds. Alfred Sanchez also manned the point guard slot with precision, tallying 15 points, five rebounds, five assists, and four steals. Lemuel Aspacio added 11 points, four boards, and three assists.

Island Paints was led by the 23 points and 16 rebounds of Mike Cinco. However, it wasn’t enough to keep the team from dropping their second straight game.

Meanwhile, AEG and Boysen Paint boosted their respective records to 2-0 after registering wins over their respective opponents.

AEG slipped past Buildrite, 70-67, while Boysen Paint won over Unitec, 58-50.

AEG leaned on a 10-2 endgame kick to pick up the victory. Down, 65-60, AEG rode a wave of momentum sparked by buckets from Bong Gabison and Zach Go to eventually nab the thrilling win.

Gabison stuffed the stat sheet with 25 points, 11 rebounds, six blocks, five steals, and two assists. Go, on the other hand, had 24 markers and 10 boards.

And finally, Boysen Paint pulled away late to take down Unitec. With the game tied at 45-all at the halfway point of the fourth, Boysen Paint found their second wind and thrashed Unitec down the stretch to get the victory.

Chester Hinagdanan had 23 points, six boards, and four steals, while Criz Matunog added 15 markers for Boysen Paint.
