MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine government is set to open jobs under the “Build, Build, Build” program for skilled workers in the country.

Five hundred thousand trainees under the skills development training of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority  (TESDA) are expected to be employed by 2018; a hundred thousand of which are construction workers.

Business process outsourcing (BPO), tourism, agriculture & fisheries are the sectors eyed for employment.

Earlier, TESDA launched its national integration scholarship program to help indigenous people, rebel returnees, and Muslims.

Around 800 individuals initially benefitted from the said program.

“Because we have about 122 training centers managed by TESDA and we have also 2,000 private training centers. Dapat po bukas ito at sasabayan po itong job fair. Inimbitahan natin ang private sector na nangangailangan ng skilled workers,” said TESDA Director General Guiling “Gene” Mamondiong. — UNTV News & Rescue
