A MAN died while another person was injured in a collision between two motorcycles in Barangay Poblacion Danao City past midnight of Saturday, July 16, 2022.

The fatality was identified as Alden Ariel, who was 26 and a resident of Barangay Poblacion, Compostela. The injured was 19-year-old John Lloyd Ramos of Barangay Binaliw, Danao City.

The police were informed by a caller that the accident happened at 12:45 a.m Saturday.

Initial investigation showed that the two motorcycle drivers had been traveling in opposite directions—Ramos was going downhill while Ariel was going uphill—when they collided.

Both motorcycle drivers suffered injuries. They were brought to the Danao City Provincial Hospital for medical attention but Ariel was later pronounced dead by the attending physician.

Investigators said the drivers were possibly driving fast that led to the collision. They possibly failed to notice each other as the road was narrow and it was dark, the police added.

Ramos’ motorcycle sustained more damages than that of Ariel’s.

The Danao City Police Station still has to complete its investigation to determine who was at fault at the time of the road accident.
