THE Land Transportation Office (LTO)-Central Visayas said Wednesday, July 7, that unclaimed motorcycle (MC) plates that are registered on January 2018 are already available for release.
The plates can be claimed via walk-in at LTO’s temporary offsite plate distribution office in the Seaview Wing of SM Seaside City, Cebu starting Wednesday until Sunday, July 11, from 10:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Claro Lumagas, LTO-Central Visayas New Registration Unit acting chief, said a total of 10,772 pieces of MC plates, registered in January 2018, are still unclaimed, while a total of 140,091 MC plates, registered from January to December 2018, are also ready for gradual distribution.
He said of the 178,485 MC plates they received since December 2020, only 4,386 of have been claimed.
Joel Maloloy-on, acting chief of the Cebu City District Office, said they will announce through their Facebook page the schedule for the distribution of MC plates registered between February and December 2018.
He said walk-in clients or owners who will claim their MC plates must bring their official receipt and certificate of registration, and government-issued identification card (ID), both original and photocopy.
For those who will be processing and claiming on behalf of the owners, they must also provide authorization letter and the ID of the one authorizing that individual to claim his or her plate on his or her behalf.
Maloloy-on said that motorists can still verify if their plates are already available by texting the details of their motorcycle registration like the plate number, MV file number, registration date, and name of the owner to 0947-349-9965. (WBS)
