Motorycle rider rams Fuente Oval fence, dies

A 28-year-old man died after he crashed his bike into the fence of Fuente Osmeña Circle on Osmeña Boulevard, Cebu City past 11 p.m. on Tuesday, May 10, 2022.

Staff Sergeant Alvin Jacalan, traffic investigator of Abellana Police Station 2, said the victim identified as Gabriel Dela Cruz Catelo, 28, of B. Rodriguez Street, Barangay

Sambag 2, was brought to the nearest Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center (VSMMC) but was declared dead by attending physician.

Jacalan said Catelo was coming from the direction of General Maxilom Avenue on his way home to B. Rodriguez when upon reaching the Fuente Osmeña oval he lost

control of the Honda PCX motorcycle while maneuvering a curve and rammed into the fence.

Jacalan said the victim might have been driving very fast as he sustained severe wounds on his head due to the impact, resulting to his death.

The police also learned that the victim was not wearing a helmet. (BBT, TPT)
