The South Division finals match between the Davao Occidental Tigers and the Basilan Steel in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) Lakan Season has been postponed after a member of the latter tested positive for Covid-19.
This means only the North Division finals between the San Juan Knights and the Makati Super Crunch would be played on Wednesday as it remains unclear when the Steel would be allowed to take the court as they still have to go through a re-swab after undergoing a seven-day quarantine period.
After nearly a year of being sidelined, the MPBL has been given the green light to proceed with its playoff games in a bubble setting inside Subic. However, the schedule of the South Division finals and the national finals will still have to be determined following this latest development.
San Juan and Makati was playing as of press time and the winner of that match would have to wait at least a week before they learn who their opponent in the national finals would be. (JNP)
