Msgr. Tan to faithful: Don’t forget to pray during Kalagkalag

CHURCH officials remind people to pray for their families, both living and the dead, and not merely focus on the long weekend vacation for this year's All Saints’ and All Souls’ Days celebration.

In an interview with SunStar Cebu on Saturday, October 29, 2022, Monsignor Joseph Tan, Archdiocese of Cebu spokesman, said Kalagkalag is also an opportunity for people to pray for souls in purgatory to find their eternal peace.

Tan said the celebration is also a good chance for the public to pray for the safety of their loved ones who live far away.

"I understand that some took the Kalagkalag celebration as an opportunity for vacation, especially since it is a long weekend... so all people are tempted to travel to destinations here and abroad or go home to their provinces," he said.

"But wherever you are, even if you are visiting the cemeteries, please do not forget to pray for the souls of the dead and our families. Offer them the gift of love and prayers." (HIC)
