SINGAPORE – China-born Singapore actor Xu Bin announces his second child’s birth on his Instagram on 12 March, sharing a photo of him carrying his new-born daughter and one of his wife, Evelyn Wang, and their two kids.
“Sharing a piece of good news with everyone, my family has a new addition, a daughter, and it isn’t easy carrying a child for 10 months, with both mother and daughter safe,” Xu captioned his post.
Thanking friends and family’s well-wishes, the 32-year-old added that it felt like a rollercoaster ride from the moment his wife was admitted to the hospital to giving birth. “My wife, you have worked hard. And, my baby, welcome to the world,” he added.
The news came as a surprise as Xu had not previously announced his wife’s pregnancy. The couple got married in late 2017 and have a two-year-old son.
In a follow-up post on Monday, Xu shared a photo of the family of four and one of his wife alone in the maternity ward. “With our family all aboard, we had to slowly learn how to handle everything on our own (and that is a lot), but because of that, Evelyn and I grew up a lot,” he shared.
The actor had recently won the viewers’ heart with his role as Zhong Shijie in the Channel 8 drama My Star Bride, which also starred Chantalle Ng as his Vietnamese bride Fangcao. Xu has also been nominated for the Top 10 Most Popular Male Artistes at the upcoming Star Awards.
