MYBUS units have started to travel all the five routes that were opened to the transportation operator by the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) 7.
The routes are in the cities of Talisay, Cebu, Mandaue and Lapu-Lapu, said LTFRB 7 Director Eduardo Montealto Jr. in a phone interview on Friday, March 13, 2020.
The fare is set at P50 for MyBus units plying the Mactan-Cebu International Airport (MCIA), Lapu-Lapu City-Talisay City via South Road Properties (SRP) route, and vice versa.
The fare for the Mandaue City-Barangay Mambaling, Cebu City and Talisay City-Mambaling routes via N. Bacalso Ave. in Cebu City is set at P25, while the fare for the Talisay City-Mandaue City route via SRP is set at P40.
Montealto said the fifth route starts from Fuente Osmeña Circle and ends at SM Seaside City Cebu at SRP. Three buses ply this route and passengers do not have to pay the fare.
The LTFRB 7 head said these routes were approved in 2017. But the MyBus operator filled all the new routes after its 15 new buses arrived in Cebu last January 2020.
Some buses, said Montealto, will start to travel early morning, especially the units plying the MCIA-Talisay route as there are passengers who have early flights. Other buses will start to travel at 6 a.m. or 9 a.m. and will end at 10 p.m.
The persons with disability only have to pay a P20 fare in the Mandaue City-Mambaling and Talisay-Mambaling routes, while they have to pay a P32 fare in the Talisay City-Mandaue City route. The same discounted fares apply to all senior citizens. (JCT)
