Napolcom Lists Cops For Promotion

MANILA, Philippines --- The National Police Commission (Napolcom) said it has recommended to President Benigno S. Aquino III the promotion of four Police Senior Superintendents to Police Chief Superintendent (equivalent to one-star General in the military) and 12 Police Superintendents to Police Senior Superintendent (equivalent to Colonel).

This was announced by Napolcom Vice Chairman and Executive Officer Eduardo Escueta after the Commission en banc issued 16 separate resolutions approving the promotion of the key officials of the Philippine National Police (PNP).

Escueta said that the Commission approved and recommended the promotion to Police Chief Superintendent of four Police Senior Superintendents who have been occupying positions that call for the rank of Police Chief Superintendent.

Recommended for promotion to the rank of Police Chief Superintendent were P/Senior Supt. Virgil Bombita, Acting Director of the PNP Retirement and Benefit Administration Service; P/Senior Supt. Pancho Adelberto Hubilla, Acting Deputy Regional Director for Administration, Police Regional Office 5 (PRO 5); P/Senior Supt. Lyndel Desquitado, Acting Deputy Regional Director for Administration, PRO 10; and P/Senior Supt. Luis Ricardo Chavez, Acting Executive Officer, Directorate for Integrated Police Operations-Western Mindanao.

Escueta said that the Commission approved and recommended to President Aquino their promotion to star rank positions after the Chief, PNP P/Director General Alan Purisima recommended their promotion and certified that they meet all the requirements for promotion.

The Commission also recommended the promotion to Police Senior Superintendent of 12 Police Superintendents who have been occupying positions that call for the rank of Police Senior Superintendent, as follows: P/Supt. Harris Fama, Acting Chief, Information and Communication Development Division, Police Community Relations Group; P/Supt. Nepomuceno Magno Corpus Jr., Acting Chief, Intelligence and Investigation Division, Maritime Group; P/Supt. Ernesto Fojas Jr., Acting Chief, Investigation and Legal Affairs Division, Intelligence Group; P/Supt. Ronelo Navarro, Acting Chief, Logistics Division, Headquarters Support Service and P/Supt. Ernesto Barlam, Acting Battalion Commander, District Public Safety Battalion, Manila Police District, NCRPO.
