Nearly 1,000 active Covid cases in Central Visayas

CENTRAL Visayas has recorded close to 1,000 active cases of coronavirus disease (Covid-19) as of Sunday, July 17, 2022.

Based on the Covid-19 tracker of the Department of Health in Central Visayas (DOH 7), the region has 923 active cases after it logged 58 new cases on Sunday.

Cebu City had the highest number of active cases among the three highly urbanized cities and four provinces in the region with 503 after it reported 29 new cases.

Cebu Province also logged 150 Covid-19 active cases with nine new cases, followed by Mandaue City with 78 active cases and three new cases, and Bohol with 74 active cases and nine new cases.

Negros Oriental recorded 66 Covid-19 active cases with five new cases, while Lapu-Lapu City had 51 active cases with three new cases.

Siquijor also recorded one Covid-19 active case as of July 17. (MKG)
