Julita Urbina was a young housewife with time on her hands when she came to Cebu where her late husband, doctor Ric Urbina, was assigned as a military doctor. She made use of her time doing what she loved to do - cooking. She then established the first Cafe Laguna near Camp Lapu-Lapu and it soon became very popular because of her yummy food. When Ayala Center Cebu opened, she was invited to set up a branch inside the mall. That was three decades ago. Last week, Cafe Laguna celebrated 31 years of fruitful existence. The Laguna Group now counts several branches around the city and elsewhere, with other sister restaurants under its wings. To mark the red-letter occasion, the different branches of Cafe Laguna offered a sumptuous lunch and dinner buffet at at a give-away price last Sept. 28.
