The NLEX Road Warriors ended their campaign in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Philippine Cup on a victorious note as they destroyed the TerraFirma Dyip, 127-101, on Wednesday at the Angeles University Foundation Sports Arena and Cultural Center in Pampanga.
The win allowed NLEX to exit the “bubble” with a 5-6 (win-loss) card while TerraFirma concluded their campaign with their 10th loss in 11 outings.
The writing was already on the wall as early as the second quarter where where NLEX uncorked a 32-18 run that placed them ahead, 55-44, at halftime. The Road Warriors then buried the Dyip even further with a huge 42-27 salvo in the third.
Kiefer Ravena led NLEX with 23 points although he didn’t play his usual load of minutes as head coach Yeng Guiao elected to spread the playing time amongst all the players, including Asi Taulava, who scored 11 markers in what could be his final game in the PBA.
Raul Soyud added 16 points, Jericho Cruz chipped in 12 while Anthony Semerad contributed 11 for NLEX.
CJ Perez led TerraFirma with 27 points and 10 rebounds. (JNP)
