No classes in Metro Manila until April 12

MANILA, Philippines – Classes will remain suspended in all levels, both private and public, in the entire Metro Manila until April 12, 2020 following President Rodrigo Duterte’s declaration of community quarantine starting March 15.

The measure is the government’s move to contain the spread of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) as Metro Manila records a number of confirmed cases.

Thus, the President reminds all students to stay at home and study or perform house chores in the duration of the class suspension.

“So you have duties to perform also. Avoid trouble with the law, avoid trouble with anybody, just in the meantime, follow,” the President said.

“Better just stay home and study. That is my advice,” he added.

Meanwhile, the President leaves it to the local government units outside of Metro Manila to decide on class suspension in their respective areas of jurisdiction.
