Watch the chilling new trailer for Jordan Peele's Nope

A chilling new trailer for Jordan Peele's Nope has arrived, but fans of the horror director are saying that 'viewer discretion is advised' if cinemagoers want to remain in the dark about the upcoming movie.

The Oscar-winning writer-director of Get Out and Us is known for keeping the secrets of his twist-laden films close to his chest, but some people online are worried this final trailer may give too much away.

Some are opting to avoid the trailer in order to enjoy film's surprises completely fresh in cinemas.

The new trailer follows a couple of enigmatic teasers for the film which stars Daniel Kaluuya (reuniting with Peele for the first time since Get Out put them both on the map) and Keke Palmer as siblings terrorised by an unseen enemy on their remote Californian ranch.

Very little is known about the plot of the film, but the new trailer show a lot more of the hidden threat that looms in the sky above their dusty homestead. Or does it?

Peele is known for being a master of misdirection and obfuscation when it comes to marketing his own movies, with the true nature of Get Out and Us only being revealed in the cinema upon release. Hopefully there's more to Nope that the trailers are letting on.

'The new NOPE trailer shows SOOO much, couldn't finish it. viewer discretion is advised," one fan who watched the trailer tweeted.

Another said: "I'm going to hold off from seeing that new NOPE trailer because I'm fully sold on that movie and I'd rather just see it in full"

One fan though was thrilled by the trailer, saying 'today's looking like a good day'.

There are, in fact, a number of new trailers for Nope online, and the US version is even more spoilery than the one launched in the UK. Watch it here, if you dare.

Talking about Nope — which he shot in 65mm IMAX — at Cinemacon back in April, Peele described Nope, as 'a new pop nightmare'.

"This film is definitely a ride. The title speaks to the idea of being in tune with what the audience is thinking and feeling in the theatre," Peele said.

"I know a lot of people who say, when it's a scary movie, they say, 'Nope!' Especially Black audiences, right? We love horror but there's a skepticism."

Nope lands in UK cinemas on 12 August, 2022.
