AS EVERYONE is getting ready to move forward from this pandemic, Cebu’s favorite malls and supermarkets are also meticulously gearing up to welcome their valued shoppers not only with doors wide open but also with stricter security and safety measures in the fight against Covid-19.
Here’s your quick guide to malls and supermarkets that are open during modified enhanced community quarantine:
SM Supermalls | (11 a.m. to 7 p.m.)
Now that SM City Cebu, SM Consolacion and SM Seaside City Cebu are now open, SM has rolled out several measures that are aligned with the standards of the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases, Department of Trade and Industry, Department of Health and the individual local government units to ensure the safety of its customers while they are inside any of these malls.
These include temperature checks at every entrance, the placement of alcohol dispensers at entrances, and a strict implementation of social distancing measures inside its malls.
Elevators are only for persons with disabilities, senior citizens or pregnant women who need to go to clinics or need essential services. They can use elevators at 50 percent capacity. When it comes to escalators, people should be two steps away from each other. Also, no mask, no entry!
SM Supermalls’ online programs also provide takeout and delivery services to serve its customers, especially those who cannot go out of their homes. Visit www.smsupermalls.com for more details.
Ayala Malls | (10 a.m. to 7 p.m.)
Ayala Center Cebu is implementing its “No Mask, No Entry” policy and is strictly monitoring the proper wearing of masks while inside the premises. This goes as well for all its manpower and merchant staff.
Cashless transactions are encouraged all throughout the mall including parking areas. Temperature checks and foot baths are required before entering the mall. Hand sanitizer stations are also available around the mall. The management encourages all its shoppers to wear and use their own Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) properly when going around.
For the convenience of shoppers, Ayala Malls designated “DriveBuy” stations at its malls’ drop-off points for easy pick-up of orders from selected stores including Ayala Center Cebu and AyalaMalls Central Bloc, and DELIVEReasY, which showcases food merchants available on various food delivery apps.
Ayala Malls will also be launching its Shopline Virtual Shopper soon to assist its customers in shopping for any item in the comfort of their own homes.
Landers Superstore | (9 a.m. to 6 p.m.)
When shopping at the superstore, several health safety measures are in place: The wearing of masks at all times is required. Customers with a temperature above 37 degrees Celsius are not allowed to enter. Disinfectant mats are to be used upon entry, and demarcation lines are placed at the waiting area, check-out counters and entrances to enforce the strict physical distancing of at least one meter.
There are directional arrows at every major aisle to guide a member’s shopping route and to avoid or minimize overcrowding of the aisles. There are also roving security guards ready to remind customers of the superstore’s physical distancing policy.
However, a Landers member can buy his groceries online through www.landers.ph and have them conveniently delivered to his home.
