NPA leader Jaime Padilla nabbed in San Juan City

MANILA, Philippines – Members of the Philippine National Police Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (PNP-CIDG) have arrested New People’s Army (NPA) leader, Jaime Padilla in San Juan City.

Acting Director Debold Sinas of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) said Padilla was rushed to the Cardinal Santos Medical Center due to hypertension following his arrest.

Padilla has a standing warrant of arrest for charges of multiple murder and kidnapping.

He was also identified as the spokesperson of the NPA Southern Tagalog unit and a member of National Information Bureau of the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) Center Committee.

The NPA leader has a P4.4 million bounty on his head.

Also arrested were three of Padilla’s men who will face charges for harboring of criminals.
