MANILA, Philippines – The number coding scheme for provincial buses will be lifted during the holiday season, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) announced.
In a memorandum dated December 16 signed by MMDA assistant general manager for operations Roberto Almadin, the agency said the scheme is suspended from December 23, 24, 26, 27 and 31, 2019 and on January 2, 2020.
The MMDA said this is to accommodate more passengers that may travel to provinces and back to spend the holidays.
The agency did not include the dates December 25 and 30, 2019 and January 1, 2020 as these are regular holidays when the number coding scheme is automatically suspended. – RRD (with details from Correspondent Joan Nano)
