Occupational Therapist Licensure exam topnotcher to get P100,000 from Lapu-Lapu City

THE Lapu-Lapu City resident who placed first in the December 2022 Occupational Therapist Licensure Examination will soon receive P100,000 from the City Government.

“Usa ka Oponganon ang malampusong nakab-ot ang pinakataas nga puntos sa bag-o lang gipahigayon nga December 2022 Occupational Therapist Licensure Exam (OTLE). Siya si Lindy Zalan Jimenez Aviles, 22 anyos, ug lumad nga taga-Lapu-Lapu nga mi-graduate isip cum laude sa Velez College,” said Lapu-Lapu City Mayor Junard Chan in a Facebook post.

“Gusto nako ipaabot kanimo Lindy nga isip amahan sa syudad, proud kaayo ko sa imong nakab-ot. Pinaagi niini, imong gihatagan og maayung dungog ang pangalan sa atong syudad,” he added.

(I would like to tell you Lindy that as mayor of the city, I am so proud of what you have achieved. You brought honor to the city for topping the exam.)

Chan said Aviles will receive P100,000 once the requirements for the city’s board passer’s incentive will be completed and verified.

Aviles ranked first in the December 2022 Occupational Therapist Licensure Exam with a rating of 83.80 percent.

Aside from Jimenez, four other graduates from Cebu-based universities made it to the top 10 of the OTLE: Angelica Gabiana Sanchez of Cebu Doctors' University, ranked third; Shannen Louise Navidad Villas of Velez College, landed in seventh place; while Dorothy Ramirez Dizon and Earl Joshua Lao Go of Velez College placed 9th and 10th, respectively.

Councilor Annabeth Cuizon told SunStar Cebu that it has been a practice of the City Government to give an award in accordance to Ordinance 14-095-2017, also known as An Ordinance Granting Cash Incentives to Residents of Lapu-Lapu City who pass or top national professional examinations. (MKG)
