Still feel like one Shake Shack in Metro Manila just isn’t enough? (And judging by the lines, you might be right.) Well, the burger gods have heard your prayers: the Manhattan-born burger joint today announced it will be opening a second location in Mandaluyong City’s SM Megamall on Dec. 6.
Shake Shack fans — of which there’s no shortage, given the chain’s cult status — were chuffed at the announcement, frenziedly tagging friends on Facebook to troop out to Friday’s big meaty event.
Expect juicy, crisp-edged smashburgers made from 100 percent Angus beef, and creamy desserts like the Manila-exclusive ube milkshake priced at PHP190 (US$4) to cap off all that greasy grub. Or class it up with the suggested Shack Red (PHP290, or US$5) and Shack Stack (PHP545, or US$11), a pairing of the store’s house red wine and its classic cheeseburger topped with a grilled portobello patty.
The once-humble (now global) burger and shakes, uhh, shack opened its first shop in the Philippines at Central Square in Taguig’s Bonifacio Global City in May this year, serving up its signature thin-but-crispy burger patties, all-beef hot dogs, crinkle-cut fries, and milkshakes.
