A TOTAL of 1,446,431 persons have already received their national ID cards from the Philippine Statistics Authority in Central Visayas (PSA 7).

The number represents 25.94 percent of the 5,575,236 persons who have applied for national ID at the PSA 7 since the launching of the National Identification System in 2021.

Mary Clare Coronado, public information officer of PSA 7, advised the remaining applicants who have not yet received their national ID cards to remain patient, as their IDs are still being subjected to a standard verification process.

President Rodrigo Duterte issued Executive Order 162 in February 2022, requiring all public and private establishments to accept national ID as valid ID in all transactions. (PAC, TPT)
