Oro’s number 7 most wanted nabbed in Bohol

THE number seven most wanted person in Cagayan de Oro City who had been hiding in Bohol for years was arrested Thursday, October 27, 2022, through “Oplan Pagtutugis,” a flagship program of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG)-Central Visayas.

Arrested was Celso Fuerzas, 56, currently residing in Barangay Moto Norte, Loon town in Bohol. A warrant for his arrest was served Thursday, October 27, by personnel of the CIDG-Bohol Field Unit led by Police Lieutenant Colonel Saturnino Estigoy.

The CIDG said Fuerzas is a native of Barangay Carmen, Cagayan de Oro City in Northern Mindanao. His arrest Thursday was made by virtue of a warrant issued by Judge Maria Corazon Badilla Gaite-Llanderal of Regional Trial Court 10 Branch 40, Cagayan de Oro City, on March 1, 2021.

Fuerzas was charged with violation of Section 11, Article 2 of Republic Act 9165, also known as Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. No bail has been recommended for his temporary liberty.

Police records showed that Fuerzas was arrested on September 28, 2018 during an anti-illegal drug raid conducted by operatives of Cagayan de Oro City Police Station 1. He was jailed but was able to post bail.

He, however, failed to attend court hearings after posting bail, prompting the court to issue a warrant for his arrest.

The CIDG personnel seized from Fuerzas during the arrest Thursday a caliber .38 revolver with three live ammunition.

With this, he will be facing another charge, this time for violation of RA 10591, otherwise known as Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.

He will be brought to Cagayan de Oro to face the charges against him. (BBT/LMY)
