More than 1,000 residents of Misamis Oriental were evacuated to temporary shelters due to floods caused by typhoon Urduja.
Authorities are now monitoring Balingasag, Medina, Hingoog City, and Magsaysay, which are all flood-prone areas.
The Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council is also monitoring the towns of Claveria, Opol, and Initao.
Meanwhile, local officials reopen to motorists the Musi-Musi bridge in Balingasag after it was closed for several hours due cracks.
There have been no reported casualties or injuries due to the typhoon as authorities continue to assess the areas affected by the more than 12-hour rainfall. — UNTV News
