As a testament to their global reach, "WYAT" (which stands for "Where You At"), trended worldwide on charts and social media.
Since its September 2 release, "WYAT", SB19's first full English-language single, has entered the iTunes chart in a total of 14 territories.
The disco dance track reached No. 1 on iTunes Chart in the Philippines, Singapore, Hong Kong, Qatar, and UAE.
The song also charted in nine other countries: No. 2 in Bahrain and Antigua & Barbuda, No. 4 in Saudi Arabia, No. 8 in New Zealand, No. 20 in Canada and Cambodia, No. 54 in Azerbaijan, No. 55 in Malaysia, No. 70 in the US, as well as No. 74 worldwide.
"WYAT", according to its lyrics as well as songwriter Pablo, is about the joy of reconnecting with people during a pandemic as more countries globally come out of lockdowns and COVID-19 restrictions are eased. Read more about SB19's concept for the song and music video here.
The music video has so far racked up more than 1.7 million views on Youtube, and trended as high as No. 4 on the platform upon its release.
On Twitter, the song trended at No. 1 on Trending Topics Philippines, and No. 2 Worldwide, maintaining those stats for days.
Lead rapper and sub-vocalist Josh was grateful to the A'TIN, the SB19 fandom, for spreading the word about the new single. "We’re very thankful and overwhelmed, especially to our A'TIN. We didn’t expect it to top in various charts not only in the Philippines, but different parts of the world. This was truly unexpected as we haven’t been around for a while. Hopefully, this release isn’t the only one that will turn out successful, but the tour as well," said Josh.
The group is kicking off their biggest local and international tour to date. Beginning this September 17, the WYAT [Where You At] Tour will open at Araneta Coliseum, to be followed by shows in Clark, Cebu, Davao and more.
From October onward, SB19 will head for international audiences, including stops in Dubai, New York, Los Angeles and Singapore.
