THE P31 per day increase for minimum wage earners in Central Visayas will be implemented starting June 14, 2022.

This after the National Wages and Productivity Commission has approved the wage increase recommended by the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board Central Visayas (RTWPB 7).

The RTWPB 7’s resolution was passed on May 24.

Based on records, the P31 wage hike is the highest increase implemented in Central Visayas in 33 years.

“The prescribed wage increase shall apply to all minimum wage earners in the private sector within the region, regardless of their position, designation or status and irrespective of the method by which their wages are paid,” the RTWPB 7 said in a Facebook post.

With the approval of the P31 minimum wage hike, Class A workers will now receive P435 from P404; Class B, P397 from P366; and Class C, P387 from P356.

The RTWPB 7 also approved an increase of P500 for domestic workers in Central Visayas.

Those working in chartered cities and first class municipalities can now earn P5,500 per month while those working elsewhere can now earn P5,000.
