THE Cebu City Government has collected P32.7 million from the City markets from January to August 2020.
Cebu City Treasurer officer-in-charge Mare Vae Reyes said that as of August 13, 2020, the City collected P32.77 million.
Reyes has also clarified that the City had lost P35.5 million from the City markets, and not P100 million.
Reyes said the P100 million, instead, is the City’s annual target for market collection.
She said the loss was due to the waiving of market fees as ordered by Cebu City Mayor Edgardo Labella as the City’s way of helping the vendors and stall owners in public markets. (JJL)
