A MAN believed to have been killed in Consolacion town in northern Cebu was already identified by his own father.

Patrocinio Quiboquibo Jr. identified the man as his son, Eric Abarilla, who hailed from Moalboal town in southwest Cebu but resided in Barangay Tabok, Mandaue City.

Abarilla was found dead around 4:30 a.m. Saturday, May 28, 2022, along the road in Paseo Begonia, Purok 7, Barangay Sacsac, Consolacion, northern Cebu.

He had gunshot wounds to the forehead and back of the head. Duct tape also covered his face, while both of his hands were tied.

He had tattoos all over his body of various people’s names and gangs. He was also wearing a t-shirt with the name of a certain fraternity.

Police Major Jude Librando Cebrero, Consolacion police chief, said that during the initial investigation, people in the area reportedly heard two gunshots at 2:30 a.m. It was only at 4:30 a.m. when his body was found by residents.

Scene of the Crime Operatives found a slug and two shells of a gun with an unidentified caliber.

Patrocinio said he last saw his son in Barangay Tisa, Cebu City, where he was allegedly picked up by the police.

But Lieutenant Colonel Janette Rafter, deputy city director for operations of the Cebu City Police Office, denied the accusation, saying no incident involving Abarilla has been reported at the Labangon Police Station. (AYB, TPT)
