Pagasa: Fair weather during Kalagkalag

AN OFFICIAL of the weather bureau has advised the public to bring an umbrella and lots of water when they go to the cemeteries on All Saints’ and All Souls’ Day on Nov. 1 and 2, 2022.

Al Quiblat, chief of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) Visayas, told SunStar Cebu on Sunday, Oct. 30, that the temperature is expected to reach 30 to 32 degrees Celsius on both days.

The heat index may also go up as high as 38 degrees Celsius starting on Monday, Oct. 31, which can cause a heat stroke, he said.

Quiblat said the weather is improving in Visayas and will continue to be fair until Wednesday, Nov. 2, although isolated rains are to be expected.

“Naa gihapon chance pero pat-ak pat-ak na lang dili nata maka-experience og widespread, only scattered rain showers,” he said.

While another typhoon is expected to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Monday, Quiblat said this will eventually become a low pressure on Tuesday, Nov. 1.

Cebu has been experiencing torrential rains and flooding in the past few days due to Severe Tropical Storm Paeng.
