THE Partido Barug-PDP Laban formally endorsed on Wednesday, September 29, 2021, the Marino Partylist for the May 2022 local and national elections.
Barug Party standard bearer and Cebu City Acting Mayor Michael Rama led the activity during the blessing and inauguration of their headquarters and office in uptown Cebu City on Wednesday.
Representative Macnell Lusotan of Marino Partylist thanked the Barug-PDP Laban party for welcoming and supporting his group, including their Cebuano supporters who voted for them in the 2019 national elections.
Lusotan said he previously worked with Rama during the Philippine Councilors League in 1992.
"Makita nato nga dili lang ni karon ang panag-uban sa Marino ug grupo sa Partido Barug, PDP-Laban, ug Kusog, naa na ni mga historical, mga kasaysayan," he said.
The Marino Partylist was founded in 2014 and had been in alliance with the Partido Barug for the past elections already.
The event on Wednesday morning was also attended by Marino third nominee Colin Rosell, former Cebu City councilor Jocelyn Pesquera and Cebu City Councilor Raymond Alvin Gracia, who will also run for vice mayor under the Barug, Kusug, and Panaghiusa coalition.
Rosell said the Partido Barug has been the local group of the Marino Partylist in Cebu ever since.
Garcia, for his part, said the Marino Partylist has been "very helpful" and "very supportive" of the City's projects.
Lusotan said the group has initially pledged to help facilitate the vaccination efforts for the seafarers and overseas Filipino workers in Cebu City.
He then urged them to coordinate with their respective local government units for their vaccination.
"Naningkamot ang atong partylist nga ma raise ang atong mga OFW kay sayod ta nga ang mga seafarers and OFW dako kining tabang sa atong ekonomiya," he said.
Noah complex manager and former councilor Jocelyn Pesquera also said the Marino Partylist has supported the Noah from the start when the facility was first used as isolation facility until now that it was converted into a vaccination facility. (WBS)
