TACLOBAN CITY, Leyte - The An Waray Party-list is eyeing to win three congressional seats in the coming May 13 party-list elections.
Rep.Neil Benedict A. Montejo, speaking during the launching of their re-election campaign held at Hotel Alejandro here, attended by hundreds of leaders and supporters, said they are eyeing to gain three seats in the coming party-list elections after they got two seats in the May 2010 elections.
Montejo identified the other nominees for the seats as Philip Jude Acidre, lawyer Victoria Noel, Jane Siao and Engr. Patrick Aguilos.
He said they are banking on their good performance of providing medical assistance, scholarships and leadership trainings to poor and depressed areas of Leyte and Samar as well as in other areas of the country where there are Warays.
Montejo lauded the efforts of outgoing Rep.Florencio G. Noel who served the party for the last three elections and completed his term, and now eyeing the mayoralty post of Tacloban City.
He said they will be concentrating their campaigns in Leyte and Samar while Noel will concentrate her campaign in Metro Manila where there are plenty of Waray voters.
Broadcaster Thor Bibar of DYDW Radyo Diwa described the An Waray Party-list as "the saviour of the people of Leyte and Samar" as poor people who need medical assistance to to the An Waray headquarters for assistance.
Bibar said the An Waray is the refuge of the indigents who need medical assistance.
