A wedding anniversary celebration turned tragic when two motorcyle-riding men who attended the party met an accident in Barangay Kaluwasan, Dagohoy, Bohol around 2 a.m. on Tuesday, June 7, 2022.

Police Staff Sergeant Gerardo Turan of Dagohoy Police Station identified the victims as Jaylou Tasis, 21, a backrider from Barangay Elaud, San Miguel town, and his neighbor Allen Bongcales, 32, driver of the motorcycle.

Tasis died instantly after the accident, while Bongcales was brought to the hospital after being critically wounded.

It was learned that Tasis and Bongcales had already went home when they decided to go back to Dagohoy to accompany their friend, who was riding a separate motorcycle, to the anniversary party.

Turan said the victims were told not to go back to Dagohoy as they were already intoxicated but they insisted on accompanying their friend.

Turan said Bongcales was driving very fast when he lost control of the motorcycle while maneuvering a curve in Kaluwasan and crashed into the concrete fence along the road side. (BBT, TPT)
