PBA approves CJ Perez trade to San Miguel

The PBA has approved the trade that would send the league’s scoring champion and Terrafirma star CJ Perez to the loaded San Miguel Beermen.

In exchange, Terrafirma will receive three reserve players in Matt Ganuelas-Rosser, Russel Escoto, Gelo Alolino as well as San Miguel’s first round picks in the 2021 and 2022 PBA Rookie Drafts.

With Perez, a 6-foot-2 wingman who averaged 24.36 points, 6.82 rebounds, 4.27 assists, and 2.0 steals per game in the 2020 PBA Philippine Cup, the Beermen now have an embarrassment of riches as their roster now features six-time league MVP June Mar Fajardo, one-time MVP Arwind Santos, multiple-time scoring champion Terrence Romeo and proven veterans Marcio Lassiter, Mo Tautuaa, Alex Cabagnot and Chris Ross.

On the other hand, Terrafirma must once again rebuild behind incoming sophomore Roosevelt Adams and the much-improved Rashawn McCarthy. (JNP)
