PBB vaccinees can get vaxxed at LGU sites

THE Project Balik Buhay (PBB) vaccinees may opt to receive their booster shots in the local government units’ (LGUs) vaccination sites.

This was what Dr. Mary Jean Loreche, chief pathologist of the Department of Health in Central Visayas (DOH 7), told Sunstar Cebu following reports that some PBB vaccinees were denied jabs in LGUs, particularly in Cebu City.

For his part, Dr. Jeffrey Ibones, head of the Cebu City Health Department (CHD), said they will cater to PBB vaccinees who would like to take booster shots in the City vaccination sites.

But Ibones clarified that they find it difficult to give them the shots at this time, stressing that the system is still down following the onslaught of Typhoon Odette (Rai).

He said as soon as the system will go back to normal, they will cater to the vaccinees, including the non-Cebu City residents as long as they can present their proof of employment from the company they are working for in the city.

PBB earlier announced the deadline for registration for PBB Plus (booster) on Dec. 10, 2021 and it was reopened on Monday, Jan. 10, 2022 upon the request of the Visayas Covid-19 Vaccination Operations Center (VVOC).

In its Facebook post, it also announced the resumption of operations starting Jan. 9 at the PBB-OBP Vaccination Center at Oakridge Business Park on A.S. Fortuna St. in Barangay Banilad, Mandaue City.

Meanwhile, all the pending schedules affected by the temporary suspension of operations caused by the typhoon, were rescheduled starting Jan. 10.

All registered vaccinees are still advised to to wait for email notification to their company HR or organization representative and invidivual SMS for each vaccinee.

“Due to the limited capacity of the vaccination site, only those with confirmed schedules for the day will be facilitated. Strictly no walk-ins,” said Loreche.

PBB also assured all the confirmed PBB Junior second doses and booster doses that they will be queued for scheduling in the coming days.

The vaccination centers in Lapu-Lapu City and Mandaue City will also administer booster shots to PBB vaccinees.

As of Jan. 9, data from all the public and private sector vaccination center in Cebu show that 35,306 booster doses have been administered. Cebu City administered the most number of booster doses with 14,862, followed by Mandaue City with 9,319, Lapu-Lapu City with 3,068 and Cebu Province with 8,059. (with IRT)
