Pearl Farm in Samal Island remains an ‘exotic’ destination for travelers

By Kaye Mangabat

SAMAL ISLAND, DAVAO DEL NORTE— For many, watching a sunset by the beach with a mountain range as a backdrop is fun and romantic.

Pearl Farm Beach Resort in Samal Island offers such as an experience making it one of the exotic must-see destinations for travelers in Davao.

The powdery white sand and clear, turquoise water of the beach is very comparable to Boracay. A panoramic view of Mount Diwalwal, Mount Matutum, and Mount Apo further boosts the ambience. Mount Apo is oftentimes covered with clouds and if you get a chance to see its summit, consider yourself lucky.

South sea pearls were cultivated at the farm until it was converted into a luxury resort by Fuego Hotels. Since then, it has become a top tourist destination.

The rich marine ecosystem is visible from the seaside cottages and will make you appreciate the beachfront more. It is best to swim early in the morning. You can also snorkel and feed the many varieties of fish.

Two beachfronts are available and each is has a nearby infinity pool. You can also head to the pagoda. From here, you can see starfish on the sea floor, and different kinds of fish including pompano, yellow tang and four stripe damselfish.

But the resort is not just for the romantic. You can be adventurous by experiencing the resort’s eco-adventure activities with your friends. Kayaking, sailing, and rappelling on a rocky wall are just some of the activities you can do to bond with your friends.

Indeed, Pearl Farm is a slice of paradise that is worth visiting.
