THE Philippines bowed out of the Asean Football Federation (AFF) Women’s Under-18 Championship after a 3-1 loss to Myanmar on July 27 at the Jakabaring Athletic Field in Palembang, Indonesia.
Despite being the aggressors, the Filipinas saw themselves down late in the first half with back-to-back goals by Vietnam.
Hnin Pwint Aye beat Philippines goalkeeper Alex Louise Tan with a looping shot. Su Myat Noe scored four minutes later from a pass by Theingi Htwe.
The Philippines suffered a huge blow after losing defender Rae Tolentino to a red card in the 84th minute.
The Filipinas gave Myanmar a scare after Jonalyn Lucban scored for the Philippines in the 87th minute to make it 2-1.
Myanmar, however, put the nail in the coffin with a goal by Aye in the waning moments of the match.
The Philippines remain winless and are already eliminated along with Malaysia.
Australia and Myanmar advance to the semifinals.
