Just a few hours after announcing a new COVID-19 death on Saturday (March 14), the Department of Health (DOH) released another statement confirming the death of two more.
This brings the total number of COVID-19 mortalities in the country to eight.
The DOH has yet to provide details about the latest fatalities as the department is currently gathering further information, according to the statement.
Earlier in the day, the DOH confirmed that patient PH40 expired late evening of Friday, March 13, from Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome due to severe pneumonia with concomitant acute kidney injury.
The said patient was confined at the Northern Mindanao Medical Center last March 3 after onset of symptoms last February 24.
Patient PH40 was a 54-year- old Filipino male, from Lanao del Sur, with no travel history and had no known exposure to persons with COVID-19.
