MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Health (DOH) on Wednesday (March 12) announced 16 additional positive cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 49.
Meanwhile, a 67-year-old Filipino identified as patient 35 (PH35) has died of the disease on Wednesday , the country’s first local death according to DOH.
The female patient had no travel history outside of the country and had been in isolation at the Manila Doctors Hospital in Manila.
