Dwight Ramos and the Toyama Grouses succumbed to the Kawasaki Brave Thunders, 87-91, in the Japan B. League at the Kawasaki City Todoroki Arena on Saturday (6 November).

The Filipino import delivered 13 points, seven assists and four rebounds for the Grouses, who crawled back from a 15-point hole but could not complete the comeback that resulted to a 1-9 record.

The Brave Thunders, who prove steadier down the stretch, anchored on Nick Fazekas and his 27-point effort, the last four of which came inside the last minute that gave their side an 89-84 edge.

Fazekas also collected four rebounds, three assists and two steals as Kawasaki climbed to a 7-3 slate.

Yuma Fujii helped Fazekas in slamming the door shut as he unfurled 23 points built on four triples, eight dimes, three boards and three steals, while Pablo Aguilar and Satoru Maeta contributed 12 and 11 points respectively.

The Grouses, on the other hand, saw Julian Mavunga's 22-point, eight-rebound, five-assist effort go for naught.

Keijuro Matsui also put up a gallant fight with 21 points, four rebounds and four assists in the defeat, while Joshua Smith managed 12 points and seven rebounds.

Both teams will clash once more on Sunday.
