Kiefer Ravena and the Shiga Lakestars suffered their sixth consecutive loss after collapsing over the Shinshu Brave Warriors, 80-90, in the 2021-22 Japan B. League at the White Ring Arena on Sunday (14 November).

The prolific Filipino stalwart was out of his element as he produced seven points, two assists and a rebound for the Lakestars, who lost hold of a double-digit lead and dropped to a 6-8 win-loss record.

Holding a 45-34 lead at halftime, Shiga could not avert a meltdown after letting the floodgates of scoring open for the Brave Warriors to the exploit. Shinshu went on a 16-3 surge to snatch a 50-48 edge in the third quarter before leaning on Yuta Okada to preserve the advantage the rest of the way.

Okada detonated a 27-point bomb built on four triples while scattering five assists and five rebounds for the Brave Warriors, who rose to a 9-5 slate.

Ko Kumagai backstopped Okada with 15 points, three boards and three assists, while Wayne Marshall and Anthony McHenry posted 10 points each as Shinshu did not need the services of Matthew Aquino to seal the deal.

On the other hand, Shiga was paced by Novar Gadson and his 22-point, seven-rebound, four-assist effort in the deflating defeat.

Also going down the drain were the contributions of Ovie Soko and Sean O'Mara. The former managed a double-double line of 16 points and 10 rebounds, while the latter tallied 17 points and seven boards.

Ravena and the Lakestars will try to turn their fortunes around when they meet the Sun Rockers Shibuya on 5 December. Meanwhile, Aquino will be hoping to suit up when the Brave Warriors face Utsunomiya Brex on 4 December.
