Kobe Paras regained his scoring touch but the Niigata Albirex BB could still not quench the drought after losing again to defending champions Chiba Jets 83-88 in the 2021-22 Japan B. League at the Funabashi Arena on Sunday (14 November).

Paras, who was coming off a two-point output, bounced back with 15 points built on three triples, four assists and three rebounds. Still, it was not enough to end the losing slide of Niigata, which absorbed their 11th straight defeat and fell to a 2-12 record.

In contrast to their lopsided loss to the Jets on Saturday, the Albirex managed to put up a fight and even held a 79-76 lead inside the last four minutes of regulation.

The match eventually came down to who had the stronger finishing kick, and it was Chiba that seized control down the stretch to secure the victory.

Cristopher Smith paced the winning side with 21 points anchored on five three-pointers as the Jets soared to a 10-4 slate.

Also proving instrumental in the conquest of Niigata was Yuki Togashi, who put up 17 points and six assists. Shuta Hara made his presence felt as well with 14 points and five rebounds in the contest.

On the other hand, Rosco Allen churned out a near double-double production of 26 points, nine boards and six dimes for Albirex that went down the drain.

Paras and Niigata will regroup in the two-week break and will return to action on 4 December to face the Akita Northern Happinets.
