Palawan named second best island in the world; Cebu, 25th
Amid pandemic travel restrictions and other challenges faced by the tourism industry, Philippine tourist spots are still recognized as world-class destinations. Just recently, an international travel site ranked Palawan second in their āTravelās Top 50 Best Islands in the Worldā list, while Cebu bagged the 25th spot.
Big 7 travel released their list on July 28 based on āaggregated scores from previous media results and contributions from the Big 7 Travel editorial team.ā
The travel site praised Palawan for its āwhite sandy beaches and tropical jungle.ā It specifically brought attention to El Nido, a cluster of 45 islands just off the tip of Palawan, which is famous for its Secret Lagoon. āAs soon as you step foot onto here youāll instantly agree itās one of the best islands in the world,ā the post read.

According to Big 7 travel Cebu Island is "a tropical paradise in the Philippines, consisting of Cebu Island and 167 other islands in the Visayas." It described whale shark diving in the south of Cebu as an āunforgettable experience.ā The site also encouraged its followers to try coconut nectar wine, also known as tuba in the Philippines, which according to the site, is ābest consumed fresh when it is still sweet.ā
Those interested in travelling to Palawan, Cebu and other Philippine tourist destinations, however, should note that strict health and safety protocols while conducting leisure travels are still being implemented to curb the spread of the COVID-19 Delta variant.
