Bobby Ray Parks and the Nagoya Diamond Dolphins could not complete a weekend sweep of the Shimane Susanoo Magic, after losing steam in a 86-94 defeat in the 2021-22 Japan B. League at the Dolphins Arena on Sunday (5 December).

The Filipino reinforcement, who was coming off a clutch 20-point performance against the same opponents on Saturday, finished with 13 points, three assists, two rebounds and two steals, as the Diamond Dolphins slid to a 9-7 win-loss record.

The Susanoo Magic, who lacked the finishing kick in their loss on Saturday, turned to American import Perrin Buford and made sure to seize control in the endgame this time around. Buford unloaded 17 of his 21 points in the fourth period, helping Shimane thwart the comeback attempt of Nagoya.

While Buford carried the load down the stretch, Reid Travis delivered a steady effort from start to finish with a double-double line of 25 points and 13 rebounds. For his part, Seiya Ando backstopped with 17 points, seven assists and four boards for Susanoo Magic, who ascended to an 11-5 slate.

Takumi Saito, on the other hand, spearheaded the losing side with 24 points and four assists, while Scott Eatherton saw his 17-point, 10-rebound double-double game go down the drain.

Parks and Nagoya will regroup and return to action when they face the Kyoto Hannaryz next weekend.
